SDP was chosen in early 2007 to work with Kaiser design engineers to integrate COGEN systems into their existing and new hospitals. By August, 2007, Kaiser awarded SDP the 750kW COGEN system to be installedat Kaiser Permanente of Vellejo CA. This is Kaiser's first hospital to use COGEN, and will be monitored closely to see how much savings are achieved. SDP has already installed the COGEN plant and is waiting for the rest of the hospital construction to be completed before turning the COGEN plant on in late 2008. If results are as expected, SDP will provide Kaiser with COGEN systems for 2-3 new and exiting hospitals per year under their $24 billion expansion plan from 2009-2014.
