SDP produces cogeneration equipment (also called COGEN or combined heat and power). SDP is a new totally integrated COGEN supplier, incorporated in 2005. SDP was formed to fill a void in California left by other COGEN companies not being able to meet CARB-7 emissions requirements. SDP chose the MAN rich-burn engine combined with 3-way catalyst and air fuel ratio controller to meet emission requirements. The company also developed its own controller with ComAp, Europe’s leading COGEN control supplier. SDP hired the best staff of other present COGEN suppliers, and designed a new closed-loop modular COGEN unit, built for better efficiency and reliability.

SDP produces its units in China at its own factory, managed by an ISO-certified ex-pat GM. The company processes every unit through its modern test center in Nevada for emissions and performance ratings. SDP has its own construction division, which installs the units at the customer sites. SDP also has its own service division, which provides operations and maintenance for the COGEN system.

SDP both installs COGEN for customer ownership and for its own ownership at customer sites, who then buy power from SDP. SDP owns over 3000kw of plant and has sold 5000kw in California and on the East Coast as of mid-2008.
